Cary Tweens Get Pampered

Young girls and 'tweens can get made-up without feeling grown-up at the new Sweet & Sassy spa, salon and party place.

The business, scheduled to open in Cary Towne Center Mall in early April, occupies a unique niche: It offers spa and salon services, such as hair styling, ear piercing and nail painting, to girls between the ages of 4 and 13. Tweens will sit in comfy, pink chairs while stylists file their toenails, apply a chocolate-scented facial or spray their up-dos with glitter.

"It's all about the young girls feeling great about being young," said owner Brenda Wilson-Sizemore. "Instead of going to a mother salon and getting your hair cut, you come to Sweet & Sassy when you are young, and you're made to feel special any day of the week."

Sweet & Sassy also offers party packages where girls can ride in a limo, strut down the store runway like a model and belt out karaoke. Party packages start at about $220. Prices for haircuts range from $14.95 to $24.95. Mini-pedis – nails aren't cut – start at $19.95 and mini-manis cost about $14.95. Both can be purchased together for $29.95.

Sizemore spent a week at a Sweet & Sassy store in Texas and saw firsthand how much girls enjoyed being pampered and made to feel "like princesses."

"It's an experience their daughters will treasure forever," Sizemore said. "It's fun; it's exciting; it's a family-fun environment. It's about little girls feeling great about who they are, giving them confidence and making them feel special."

For information, contact Sizemore at (919) 460-7677, e-mail her at cary@sweetandsassy.com or go to www.sweetandsassy.com.
