Katie Garrity & Mitch Pollard
Written By Danielle Caspar
Katie Garrity and Mitch Pollard tied the knot Sept. 8, 2007. The journey to their beginning started long before Mitch and Katie were even a twinkle in their parents' eyes. Their dads grew up going to school together at Cary High, and eventually became college suite mates. The two friends had no idea that one day their families would come together just like a love story.
Mitch and Katie attended the same middle school and high school but never really knew each other or how their families were connected. Several years after high school, Katie ran into Mitch at a baseball game, and after the game, she commented to her sister Maggie just how cute Mitch was and wondered if he was dating anyone. With a little help from Maggie and Mitch's brother, Brian, Mitch mysteriously got Katie's number and called. That one phone call would lead to two years of dating and blossom into a fairy-tale engagement.
The two were married at Cary Alliance Church where Pastor Mitchell Gregory and Pastor Jason Gaston performed the ceremony. Friends and family witnessed the unique and heart-felt service just how the couple envisioned it. Everyone proceeded to a reception at the beautiful Bentwinds Country Club in Fuquay-Varina, where smiles filled the room while guests enjoyed dining and dancing.
A photographer from Cinema One Studio captured small and large details of the couple's special day. Mitch and Katie then traveled to their honeymoon in Mexico where they relaxed and reminisced about their special day and their future as husband and wife. The couple sends a special thank you to everyone, and especially their parents who helped make their wedding day a wonderful chapter in their love story.
